英語村第14回目（2022年11月1日）

後期英語村第4回目に、3人の講師のMichaelさんとMaryさん、そしてKatrinaさんが来てくださいました。今回は常連の学生さんたちが中心の参加です。彼らは講師にも英語村にも完全に馴染んでいて、英語村の前向きで素敵な空気を創り出すパワーの源になっているようです。

1枚目の写真から、MichaelさんもMaryさんもいつものように楽しい英語のゲームカードを手に活動の準備をしているのが分かります。

でも次の写真では二人ともカードから手を放し、学生さんたちと熱心に話し込んでいます。常連さんたちは英会話をこよなく愛する英語上級者たち。ジェスチャーも交えながら英語だけでコミュニケーションを図っています。講師お二人の感心した様子からも確かなやり取りや自信をもって思いを伝える学生さんたちの頼もしさに嬉しくなりました。3枚目の写真はKatrinaさんと別のグループが英語のカードゲームに興じています。このカードを見るのは初めて。この記事の後記にKatrinaさんが説明してくれていますが、難易度の高いLanguage Cardで世界の地理や有名人や文化や習慣を英語のQ&A形式で述べながら展開していくものです。楽しみながらも頭をフル回転させて熱気あふれる活動でした。

英語の語彙や表現だけでなく、さまざまな知識を軽やかに学べるところが最高にcool!! だとは思いませんか。

We had an amazing turn out at English Village today, with many students joining us for the first time.

We played a new game “Around the World” which is a Q&A game about Languages, Geography, Famous People & Places, and Culture & Customs from around the world. Even though it was challenging, we were amazed at how many questions we were able to answer.
