トラベル英会話の体験イベント（報告）

春休みに合わせ、諏訪理科大ではトラベル英会話の体験イベントを開催しました。空港のチェックインカウンター、セキュリティーチェック、機内、手荷物受取所、税関、タクシー、ホテル、土産物店など、10カ所のステーションで、学生も教員も区別なく、参加者は、どのような英会話や質問に遭遇するかを一緒に体験しました。

参加者は紙パスポートを持ち、旅しながらスタンプを集めました。さらに、旅行に役立つ英語表現が書かれたプリントも配布されました。

各ステーションで参加者は、厳しい警備員、ダブルブッキングの座席、重すぎる荷物、荷物の紛失など、何らかの問題に直面しました。

ニューヨーク行きとロンドン行きの2便があり、到着した全員にちょっとしたお土産が用意されていました。最後に皆さんが 「ホテルのレストラン 」に集まり、旅行体験や旅行計画などについて話し合いました。

非常に好評を得ており、今後も同様のイベントを開催したいと考えています。

Travel English Experience 2025 Report

Just in time for the spring holidays, we held an experience-based event on Travel English here at Suwa University of Science.

At ten checkpoints, the participants, both students and teachers, could experience the questions they might be ask at the Airport Check-in, security-check, in the airplane, the baggage claim, customs, taxi, hotel, gift shop and so on.

The participants travelled with a passport in which they could collect stamps during their trip. Furthermore, all participants received a handout with useful English expressions around travelling. At each station, the participants faced some kind of problem, such as a strict security officer, double occupancy of seats on the aircraft, luggage that was too heavy or even lost.

There were two flights, one to New York and one to London and for those who arrived well a little souvenir was waiting.

At the end all participants met in the “hotel restaurant” to share travel experiences or travel plans for their vacation.

We have received very good feedback and hope to organise a similar event again in the future.
