英語村第6回目（2023年6月13日）

フランスから留学生がやって来た！！ 
英語村第6回はいつにも増して熱気に包まれた活動になりました。フランスからの留学生2名（Noe君とPierre君）が参加してくれたからです。コロナ禍で中止になっていた海外校からの留学生受け入れ再開おめでとう！！
フランスからの留学生と院生の皆さん
英語村参加常連の院生が音頭をとって新しい院生とともに留学生を連れてきてくれました。欧米というふうに一括りに捉えがちですが、実は言語の母体が異なるため一般的にフランス人にとって英語は難しいということを知っていましたか。

そんな2人が大きなジェスチャーを交えながら参加者たちに対して積極的に英語でコミュニケーションを図ろうとする姿に胸を打たれた私（レポーター）です。院生たちにもその熱意は感染していき、気がつけば全身を使って英語でさまざまなトピックを話し合っていました。講師のKatrinaさんのバックグラウンドであるアメリカと院生たちの日本と、そしてフランスと3国の歴史や文化や習慣の違いを実物のお金や絵を見せながら説明し、興味津々。理想的な国際交流の場になりました。活動終了後、さっそくNoe君とPierre君にインタビュー開始です。

NoeくんーMy name is Noe Border. I ‘m in 1st year of engineer cycle in cybersecurity in Angers, France.
PierreくんーMy name is Pierre FOURIE. I ‘m studying network and numerical systems in RENNES in France.
Q2. Where are you from? （有名なものは何でしょうね）
NoeくんーI’m from Angers, in France (美しい町並み)
PierreくんーRENNES,FRANCE (そば粉クレープ・ガレットのソーセージ包み)
Q3. Quel était le but de votre inscription à l’Ecole publique de sciences de Suwa l’Université des sciences de Tokyo? (公立諏訪東京理科大学に留学した目的は？)＊フランス語で質問してみました。
NoeくんーI have to do an internship abroad during 12weeks, then I took contract with Takehiko Yamaguchi to see if it was possible in Suwa University of science.
PierreくんーI register in Science University of Suwa to do an internship for my studies.
Q4. How long will you stay at this University?
NoeくんーI’m going to stay 12 weeks from 12/06/2023 to 02/09/2023.

Q5. Thank you for coming to the English Village today. How was this activity?
NoeくんーIt was a great experience. Being able to talk and get to know the students in this setting was easier for us and for them too.
PierreくんーThis activity was very good because we can talk with Japanese students of our life and we learn information about Japan society.
2人ともおおいに英語村の活動を愉しみ、留学生活の活力を得たようです。院生5人の感想も少し聞いてみましょう。
問1．今日の留学生と一緒の英語村はいかがでしたか。
亀井君ーいつもと違う楽しさだった。
今西君ーフランスの話を聞いて新鮮でした。
りょうすけ君ー3カ国の文化を比較できて良かった。
戸塚君ー様々な文化が入り交じる会話になり1つの話題に対するコミュニケーションが活発化したように感じた。
はるき君ー留学生の出身地であるフランスの文化についえ日本と比較しながら学ぶ事ができて良かった。
問2．どんな新しい気づきがありましたか。
亀井君ー発言量の違いに気づいた。
今西君ー人によって英語になまりや違う単語があることを教えてもらった。
りょうすけ君ー英語のイントネーションがだいぶ異なっていた。
戸塚君ー国により文化が異なるため日本の文化でも他の文化と触れあうことで気づくものがあることを認識できた。
はるき君ー英語の能力に差があり、明らかに留学生の発言量が多かった。
留学生のアクティブな活動への姿勢に非常に触発されたようですね。
別のテーブルでもMichaelさんとMaryさんと2対2で和やかに会話を楽しむ学生さんたちの姿が印象的でした。

We had a very exciting day at English Village today! We were joined by two of the foreign exchange students, Noe and Pierre. The students from SUS introduced themselves, their hometown, and the delicious foods you can find in their hometown. In return the students from France showed us the money, transportation cards, and types of IDs they have in France, as well as told us so many fun and interesting things about French life, language, and culture.
